HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?

All sessions are 45 minutes except for group which is 1.5 hrs.  To make the most progress, we meet at least once a week.  We work to find a regular time each week that is yours.  The duration of treatment varies according to your individual needs and when we both feel like your goals have been accomplished.


CAN I USE INSURANCE?

I am an out-of-network provider for insurance companies. Based on your insurance policy, you may receive some reimbursement for treatment.  If you would like to submit for reimbursement, I can provide you with a superbill for that purpose.  My decision to not partner with insurance companies is informed by my commitment to ensure the confidentiality of our work and that all decisions about our work together are made by us and not a 3rd party.


WHAT IS GROUP THERAPY LIKE?

Members meet on a weekly basis for 1.5 hrs and are encouraged to bring in the most relevant parts of their life to the group – struggles, successes, big life choices.  In the moment experiences with other members feed the energy of the group and provide invaluable feedback to each other about their interpersonal styles.  As the group leader, I help facilitate communication and connection between members.  All members go through an intake process prior to joining.  This process ensures you are a good fit for the group and that you are adequately prepared for your group experience.


HOW DO I CHOOSE A THERAPIST OR KNOW IF YOU ARE THE RIGHT THERAPIST FOR ME?

Choosing a therapist can be daunting.  How do you know what style of treatment might be best for you?  What type of background does your therapist need to work with you? Man or woman?  When you boil down all these factors in choosing a therapist, research suggests that it comes down to a feeling – do you like your therapist?  The beginning parts of therapy are all about getting to know each other and finding out if we are a good fit for each other.  I encourage transparency about how it is going for you.  If we find that we aren’t a good fit for each other, I will help you find another therapist who is.


DO YOU OFFER COMPLIMENTARY CALLS BEFORE WORKING TOGETHER?

Yes, I offer a 15 minute complimentary call which you can schedule here. We’ll use this as a way to say hello, see if we might be a good fit, speak a little to how I work and what you can expect. Then, you’ll receive an intake session.


 ARE YOU SEEING PEOPLE IN PERSON?

Yes. I am working with clients both in person and virtually. I continue to monitor the level of risk during this time and how to work safely with everyone.  If there is a resurgence of the pandemic, if other health concerns arise, or if I believe it is otherwise necessary, I may require that we return to meeting virtually for some future sessions. I take the safety of my clients, myself, and the loved ones we are in contact with very seriously and will do what I can to minimize our health risks.


DO YOU HAVE A CANCELLATION POLICY?

Yes.  I ask that all cancellations and rescheduling be done at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment; otherwise, you are charged for the session.
